The people who are coming out saying "gunn is doing something new" or he's "exploring a part of the character that's never been done before" or "it's awesome that Gunn is exploring Superman's human side and wanting to just 'do the right thing', y'all can stop being disingenuous.

Zack Snyder did this already. It's called Deconstruction. he did this with both Man of Steel and BvS.

Just because Gunn is doing it in his film doesn't make the concept new. Or innovative. Or "daring". All he did was steel an Idea from a man he claims to have respect for, and capitalized on the whole "the world wasn't ready for Zack's take back then" routine.
