For four weeks, from approximately January 3 to January 31, he was denied bottle feeding, further compromising his nutrition and recovery.
Calum suffered from pneumonia for 27 days—diagnosed or evident by [e.g., January 8]—yet the hospital failed to treat it effectively, allowing his condition to persist untreated until at least january 18th, 2025.
Between January 3 and January 25, he was subjected to six different seizure medications, none of which were the vigabatrin I instructed them to administer on January 5. Only on January 25, after exhausting their own options and with Calum’s condition presumably deteriorating, did they finally administer vigabatrin—20 days after my initial directive.
On january 27th, 2025, I was banned from the hospital premises for calling Texas Health and Human Services on speakerphone to report these issues, an action taken in desperation due to the staff’s refusal to listen or act.
These events demonstrate a pattern of negligence, arrogance, and disregard for both my son’s health and my rights as his parent. The hospital only acted on my medical advice when their own approaches failed, placing Calum in unnecessary peril.
Impact:
As a result of this neglect, Calum has endured prolonged suffering, including untreated pneumonia for 27 days, aspiration from improper feeding, and a trial-and-error approach to seizure management that delayed effective treatment.
