Mike Brown was fired four times — twice by the same team.
He could have walked away bitter. Instead, he kept learning, kept showing up, and kept believing his story was not finished.
Now, he’s a champion.
Sometimes rejection is not the end of the road. It is preparation for the right opportunity. Your setback may simply be setting the stage for your comeback.
This is such a powerful quote from Hornets Head Coach, Charles Lee
“Anybody that's gonna push you loves you more than anybody that's gonna let you stay the same."
"Of course talent matters...
But 'effort is worth twice as much as talent.'
So, if we are going to hold on to this bias, and continue to recruit the most talented kids, we better learn how to develop their grit.
Because grit is what turns potential into reality."
"Culture is how we act, interact, and respond."
Culture isn’t on the wall framed.
It’s filmed.
Every correction, every mistake, every hard moment leaves evidence of what your team really values.
Sean McVay just defined courage in one sentence:
"Doing what's right in spite of your fears. Even if it costs you something."
Won a Super Bowl at 36.
Courage isn't talent. It's a cost most people refuse to pay.
Someone out there is living the life you want.
Not smarter. Not more skilled. Not more resourceful.
They just paid the bill. You walked away.
What's the thing you're still avoiding because it might cost you something?
You are under no obligation to be the person you were five minutes ago. ⏲️
None of us are finished products. We are all works in progress, constantly being shaped by our choices, our habits, the standards we choose to live by, and the environment around us.
If you don't like who you are today, or if you aspire to become more tomorrow, you can make that decision right now. Not next week. Not next year. Right now.
Identity is not fixed. It is fluid. It isn't something you find, it's something you build.
Your identity is just a lagging indicator of your habits.
So stop obsessing over who you are and start focusing on what you do.
Do the things the person you want to become would do. Make the choices they would make. Carry yourself the way they would carry themselves.
Become who you are by acting like who you want to be.

Victor Wembanyama's competitive drive is refreshing.
In an era where everyone is trying to be friends, he is solely focused on dominating and winning games.
The sport is in a phenomenal place with a guy like him leading the next generation.

“This team is a very selfless group. At the end of the day, we know we’re willing to sacrifice our own individual performance to stash our accolades for the betterment of the team. When you have a whole team of those kind of guys and character, it puts you in position to be successful,” Josh Hart
