Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.

More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸

HOUSE: Speaker Mike Johnson cut a secret deal letting Democrats veto any GOP amendment. Tim Burchett's amendments to the BUILD America 250 Act were all killed on Democrat objection. Republicans control the House on paper. Democrats control it in practice. Ilhan Omar. Shri Thanedar. Pramila Jayapal. All born in foreign countries, none were citizens by birth. All sitting in the United States Congress. All making clear every single day their loyalty is not to America.

We just introduced a long overdue joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment to require Members of Congress, federal judges, and Senate-confirmed officers to be natural born citizens. This is the very same standard the President and Vice President are already required to meet.

The people writing America's laws, confirming America's judges, and representing America on the world stage should have one loyalty: America. Not any other country.

For too long we have allowed foreign born members to hold seats in this government while making clear they are America last, not America first. We see it every day. This constitutional amendment will put an end to it.

A major loophole is being exploited in Texas

When Indians come over on a H-1B Visa, it’s not just them

They are then able to put in H-4 Visas and bring their kids and spouse

Their kids are then enrolled in American schools as residents not international students, this bypasses guardrails at colleges that make sure there aren’t too many international students changing the demographics of the school

This is why some schools are completely overrun with foreigners

tens of thousands of H-4 visas are issued annually, with India being the top country

This is a real and widely used pathway, though it is legal under current US immigration rules

H-4 children are treated as residents for enrollment purposes in most states, including Texas. They attend free public schools like any other child living in the district. They are not classified as international F-1 students, so they do not count toward international student caps or pay higher “international” tuition at the K-12 level

After high school, they can often qualify for in-state tuition. They apply as domestic students not international

We have to change our laws to close this loophole, especially knowing the H-1B Visa program is being abused to drastically

@CoachSwit Our varsity coach wouldn’t let starters go more than 80-85 pitches into the playoffs. Even then, he wouldn’t go over 95. To your point, we have a Junior 2-way player committed to a D1 as an SP. Coach already told him at the end of the season he will be a PO next year.

@CoachSwit Our HS varsity coach won’t cut seniors. He had 18 seniors, 4 juniors, 1 Soph this year. The JV team has 10 juniors (some of which deserved to be up). I had the same conversation with a few people about not building the program from the bottom up.
