@ChrisJBakke@GORGO4547 Would love to hear about the differentiation with this bread slicer, also why only raise $150M? Youโre putting in the same work, $300M would give you a longer runway.
Name dropping enterprises without concrete tractions during a pitch is a death trap.
If you have been talking to a google for 6 months, my natural next question is what was the outcome of those conversations. Itโs better to wait until you got some tractions.
@amanda_robs Itโs like putting the wet paper towel over your stale pizza before microwaving it, it doesnโt change the fact itโs old pizza but it does taste better if you reheat it that way
In 90%+ pitch decks I read, it's rarely ever crystal clear of what the company actually does. This is the number one reason founders struggle to raise funding. A simple solution to this to include the following statement early within your deck:
"We help X achieve Y by doing Z"
X = Your Customer
Y = The Problem You Are Solving
Z = Your Solution
Doing this clearly and concisely will increase the likelihood of an investor taking a first meeting tenfold.
If you are a woman founder thinking about raising a pre-seed/seed round, please feel free to dm me with your deck, round size, traction, and a short description. I will help at least 3 founders find good partners to work with.
1 out of 78 female founders became unicorn founders vs 1 out of 105 of their male counterparts. Despite that, woman founders and co-founders only received about a quarter of total VC funding last year-

If you are an immigrant founder/co-founder and are thinking about raising pre-seed/seed, feel free to send an email to [email protected] with your deck, round size, traction, and a short company description.
I'll share at least 5 founders with the 40+ VCs in my network ๐ช
50%+ of unicorn companies are founded by immigrant founders. Being an immigrant founder means leaving your family, friends, connections, and life behind to build something you deeply believe in and are uniquely positioned to build-

Luck, they told me. It's being prepared, at the right place, at the right time.
Being prepared implies you know what you are preparing for. Being at the right place at the right time implies you know where this target will be and you know when this target will be there.
My favorite question when I meet an interesting investor has been: how did you get to where you are today?
I have been getting a lot of this weird answer lately.
