@PWaynorth@charise_lee 2/2 there are also many local organizations that are providing food and supplies to people impacted by the government shut down. Most major cities are organizing a response.
@PWaynorth@charise_lee My church is part of a larger church and we are encouraged to support locally and nationally. Nationally we support Convoy of Hope and Samaritan’s purse. They respond a lot to disasters. Locally we support the local food bank. 1/2
@lX_Enigma_Xl@lifescaption_ow@charise_lee I believe that is far more productive than sitting behind a keyboard stirring the pot which is what I ended up doing and I apologize. Not for my position, but for causing distraction.
@lX_Enigma_Xl@lifescaption_ow@charise_lee I’m not towing any line. All I really wanted to say is that we shouldn’t wait for the government to save us - any of them. I happen to live in a more Republican area. I attend church. We’ve talked for weeks about what we can and are doing to mitigate people going hungry.
@nickknack423 @dennisbmurphy @charise_lee They definitely need to fix healthcare but not at the expense of holding the country hostage. The Republicans haven’t cut anything in the process of the government shutting down. The subsidies to healthcare voted on during COVID expired. It’s going back to pre-COVID structure.
@dennisbmurphy @charise_lee The Democrats didn’t end the filibuster when they could have. Why not? Neither side wants to give it up because it benefits them more often than not. It about power. I’m not saying I agree with it but it isn’t a partisan issue - the filibuster.
@t_y2h8hhrptv @charise_lee We probably disagree on what would really help the less fortunate but I wish you well. Depending on the government isn’t a good idea. Neither party manages money very well historically.
