Look, I’m not going to lie. As a grown man I cried yesterday, because I felt broken at the realisation that I felt America had been seriously wounded in the battle to save the soul of a nation.

I felt a deep sense that I had not done enough, despite fighting this fight relentlessly every day for almost six years now. I know that is nothing compared with the fight of many who have been doing this for decades. But it really hurt and I felt a sense of deep despair.

Yet here I am at 5.30am ready to fight another day with my fellow warriors for a better tomorrow. We are in for the fight of our lives for good reason. We cannot allow these thugs to take away hope and the futures of our children and our grandchildren.

I’m dusted off and ready for another day in the trenches with a renewed sense of purpose. What about you?
