BREAKING: President Biden is planning to issue new rules on Asylum in the United States.

According to the new rules, people who cross the border illegally will be banned from entering the US for 5 years and could face felony charges.

This new administration policy will disqualify immigrants from protection if they don’t request refugee status in another nation before reaching the southern border. This rule will not apply to unaccompanied children.

This replaces Title 42 which expires tomorrow, and which was intended to be used to protect America from potential public health emergencies and occurrences.

The problem with this new rule is that it is very similar to a Trump administration rule that was deemed illegal by a federal court. Most Democrats were very much against this similar rule under Trump.

I'm wondering what everyone's opinions are on this rule. Do Democrats still oppose it now that Biden is creating it? Do Republicans still support it like they did under Trump? Are we made up of a country of hypocrites?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
