The Bullrun 🐂 is imminent
Are you a newbie in the world of cryptocurrency, still feeling stuck? Here are some insights that helped me in my crypto journey and might help you too 1/4🧵
Step 1 - Understanding the Blockchain Technology
If you are a newbie, it's essential to go through the basics. Many make the mistake of jumping straight into investing in one crypto token or another without even understanding the ecosystem and fundamentals of blockchain technology. You can't do good research or make sound investment decisions without knowing the main building blocks of cryptocurrencies. Believe me, this will be a lifesaver at one stage because the more you know about blockchain, the easier it becomes to identify illicit projects.
There are a lot of shitcoins that might seem promising due to heavy marketing efforts on popular social networks such as YouTube, Reddit, and Twitter, which might end up being a scam. So, it's advisable for anyone, especially newbies, to understand the technology, how it works, and what problems it is solving in our world.
THINGS WORTH KNOWING AS A NEWBIE:
1) Good understanding of Blockchain, types of Blockchain, and their unique utilities.
2) Tokenomics: Understanding Total Supply, Circulating Supply, and trading tax percentages.
3)Blockchain consensus: Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS), and many more.
4)A good understanding of inflationary and deflationary tokens is ideal.
5) And most importantly, staking and farming. It's essential to know the difference between staking and farming, their core principles, and the like!.
6)Liquidity.
7)Smart contracts.
8) Token/coin cryptos: Knowing the difference between coin and token is a big plus.
Lastly, knowing different scam patterns in the crypto space and how to avoid them, e.g., rug pulls, romance scams, phishing scams, Ponzi schemes, fake cryptocurrency exchanges, employment offers, and fraudulent employees.
Step 2 - Understanding the Concept of DeFi (Decentralized Finance) and How It Works
Explore CEX (Centralized) and DEX (Decentralized) Exchanges where you can buy, sell, or swap your tokens. There is a lot of ground to cover, but believe me, it's interesting once you get into the entire concept.
Step 3 - Do Your Own Research (DYOR)
This is your very first step in crypto. The crucial part is that everything begins with DYOR, and you will never stop using this step in your crypto journey. In order to invest successfully, you will need to research coins, tokens, and projects. The main task is to create a shortlist of projects/tokens that you find interesting and that have some long-term value. An important part of investing is to diversify your portfolio, and this step will help you with this. I would recommend using Excel or Google Sheets to keep track of them.
Step 4 - Picking Your Tokens/Projects
We need to pick our projects where we want to invest our hard-earned fiat, right? Well, this step requires time and dedication as you need to decide which tokens will be a part of your portfolio and pick them from your shortlist.
CERTAIN SET OF INFORMATION YOU NEED TO GATHER AS A NEWBIE BEFORE MAKING MOVES TO INVEST IN ANY PROJECT YOU FIND INTERESTING:
1) Is the project decentralized?
2)What are the tokenomics?
3)How large is the community, and what is the token distribution ratio?
4)What problems are they trying to solve?
5)Who is the team behind the project, and what is their background?
6)Is the network secure?
7)Do they have any existing partnerships and with whom?
8) Who is backing up this project?
You can, of course, add an additional set of questions that you think are important in this process. In this step, you will usually pick up 5-10 projects that passed your criteria and are presenting long-term value worth investing in. To be continued...
If you've made it this far, congratulations! 👏good luck on your journey to financial breakthrough. If you find this thread helpful and useful, please like, share, and retweet!🙏
One thing I've learned in life is as much as you toot the horn of others, you should toot your own horn too
Many times, I found myself complaining because I didn't feel I was getting enough recognition or love from those I expected it from
Well, why wouldn't that be the case when I was celebrating others more than I was celebrating myself?
So I had to change my mindset
I love my friends, and I celebrate them when I get the chance, yes
But me sef, I'm not small
(You sef no small 🙂)
As much as we clap for others, celebrate others, raise them on a pedestal and toot their horns...
Let's toot our own horns too
The love you show others should extend to yourself too
Don't be your own enemy and make it one-sided 🩵
@princess_yfe true, i learnt this earlier this year, recognizing your worth and capacity is not bad ,neither is it pride.... thank you for the reminder
@princess_yfe@yfe_embedded i enjoy making devices talk with each other and as well extract data from my environment using smart sensors— so IOT is the domain for me. thank you for sharing this, it will really help other aspiring engineers choose a domain that interest them most
@0x_H3c70R @comfort_prima Well, cybersecurity is not very entry-level friendly. Many roles require certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Security+ before you can even be considered for employment. These certifications are expensive, making it difficult for the average person to afford and break into the field.
