Been in this boat before.
It’s so easy to get carried away with doing what you want rather than what your customers want. Inside your head you have all these ideas and thoughts as to how you want your brand to go, but unfortunately your customers don’t give a fuck what you think, they only want what’s best for them.
Don’t worry man, been in this situation and not once either. You’ll bounce back 👍
I want to grow my following on X
But at the same time I don’t want to post bullshit. I want to post real value and stuff documenting my process.
The problem is if I don’t post bullshit, then I can’t post as much and grow my following 🤣🤣🤣
I suppose I’ll just post how I want and whoever finds my content valuable, then they’ll follow.
Over the past 5 years have you done product/market research before even selling a product?
Of course social media doesn’t show what’s really going on behind the scenes, and some people do just get lucky first time. What product and market research is probably the most important part of the script.
However, product and market research before even trying to build and sell a product is by far the most important part.
The funnel still exists. It’s just not a straight line anymore. People see you over and over in different places, before you buy. You can’t control the order. The algorithms do. New customers is where the money is.
Gen Z buyers are far more likely to do research on a product before they buy. This means that if they see your ad, it’s not as simple ad impression -> click -> conversion. Everyone’s customer journey is different. Some people will impulse buy because it’s the right moment for them, but other people may see you ad over the span of two weeks, AND then purchase.
You can have a amazing product, but if you don’t know how to market, then what’s the point…
Marketing is by far the most influential skill you can wield. Anyone can built anything these days. It’s easier than ever.
But building an audience, creating trust, and then monetising that audience to create cash flow is by far the most valuable piece of the puzzle.
So whenever you decide you want to make money from something. Don’t think “how can I build this?” Instead think “how can I market this?”
How long did it take for you all to get accepted when you put it in for review?
I’ve been waiting 3+ days now. Curious as to how many days everybody else had to wait?
It’s not Shopify, it’s Stripe.
Shopify payments uses Stripe as their payment processor. It’s just got the “Shopify” branding wrapped over it.
Stripe is a payment aggregator. This means that you don’t get your own dedicated merchant account. Instead you’re onboarded as a sub-merchant under Stripe's master account. That's why you can sign up and take payments in minutes instead of waiting weeks for bank underwriting. But it comes with a cost. The likely hood of getting your funds frozen in place is very high.
Shopify support won’t be able to do anything unfortunately as it’s not under their control.
Your best bets is finding a new payment processor that you can trust and allows you to have your own merchant account. Realistically you should have a backup payment processor for when shit like this happens.
The takeaway is, stripe is good for getting started and taking payments instantly, but not good for long term/high cash flow businesses. 👍
ADHD and Forgetfulness 🧐💭
It’s a real issue ⚠️
That’s why I build Ormy: ADHD reminder app specifically built to stop you from forgetting.
I built this to actually solve my own problem. 4 months and 89 updates later, and I can happily say that this app actually does stop my from forgetting 🔥
I never wanted to ship a product that I wouldn’t use or doesn’t solve a real problem for people. I get real satisfaction from building things that people GENUINELY like.
The waiting list is live!

Be authentic, tell you a story you’d be surprised as to how many people will be interested. I’ve just spent the past few months building this app to solve my own problem and instead of making some bullshit ad that looks like a ad. I instead, just made a video talking authentically to the camera about what I’ve actually done. And yeah, sure I may not be optimising for the most clicks, however anybody that does click is 100% the customer I want as they took their time to watch the video. And I know the ones who watched all the video are the most valuable customers because clearly know the product is aimed towards them.
