I booked a flight with @flyunitedng for my sister from Ekiti to Abuja for today and while booking the flight, the system repeatedly showed “3 seats remaining”, suggesting the flight was close to full. Other available class category were also showing limited seats/no seats.
Verbal agreements might save time today, but they cause lawsuits tomorrow.
Secure your future, not just your land. Get it in writing always.
I hope you learnt something from today’s tweet🤗
See you some other time🥰

WHY VERBAL LAND AGREEMENTS ARE DANGEROUS!!!
“He promised to give me land” — famous last words in property disputes.
In Property Law, ownership is not about promises — it’s about proof.
A verbal agreement or a simple “understanding” can’t transfer land under Nigerian law.
According to the Land Use Act and Property Law practice, every transfer of interest in land must be in writing & properly executed.
That’s why as a buyer/investor, always insist on:
📜 A written Deed of Assignment
📍 A registered Survey Plan
📑 Registration at the Lands Registry
💼 “LEGAL MISTAKES YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS MAKE - FROM A LAWYER’S DESK”
After reviewing several startup and SME cases, one thing stands out!
Most legal problems start from small oversights such as:
🚫 No registered business 🚫 Verbal partnerships
🚫 No contracts 🚫 Using personal accounts for company funds
These seem harmless until money or trust is lost.
Legal structure is not luxury — it’s business survival‼️
‼️3 Legal Documents Every Business Owner Should Have (But Most Don’t)‼️
Many Nigerian businesses fail, not because the idea was bad — but because the structure was.
Before you start signing deals or collecting money, ensure your business has these three legal safeguards👇🏽👇🏽
These documents aren’t just “paperwork” —
They protect your money, your property, and your peace of mind.
A quick consultation with a lawyer before buying can save you years of stress.

In Nigeria, most property disputes arise from one thing —
👉 Ignorance of the right documents.
Before you buy any land, insist on seeing these 3 key documents 👇
✅ Deed of Assignment
✅ Survey Plan
✅ Certificate of Occupancy (C of O)
