Today we’re decoding two paramount ZKP technologies zk-SNARKs & zk-STARKs to depict the potential for the future of blockchain ecosystem.

Key Differences:

- Trust Setup: zk-SNARKs require a one-time setup, which facilitates the creation of subsequent proofs. zk-STARKs do not require this setup, offering an alternative approach to generating randomness.

- Proof Size: zk-SNARKs generate much smaller proofs compared to zk-STARKs. This difference is crucial in scenarios where minimizing data size is beneficial.

- Transparency and Scalability: zk-STARKs operate without a trusted setup, which enhances transparency. zk-SNARKs, meanwhile, provide a more compact solution that is suited for environments with strict data size constraints.

Benefits of zk-SNARKs

Prom utilizes modular blockchain architecture. However, it might be hard to grasp what the term implies, especially compared to monolithic ones.

What's the Key Difference?

A monolithic blockchain integrates all functions — consensus, execution, and data availability — into a single layer. This traditional unified architecture is epitomized by Bitcoin and Ethereum, for example.

In the meantime, a modular blockchain decouples these functions into separate layers. Just like separate blocks, you can stack them on each other.

What are the Advantages of Modular Architecture?

Thanks to the structural framework, modular blockchains improve the scalability of the network. The key benefits of Layer 2 solutions are tied to the modular design of the solutions:
