@andrewcuomo@DemSocialists I just want social democracy. Too bad it seems most Americans have never even heard the term, let alone know whether they agree with it or not.
@JamieMetzl I thought it was vote blue no matter who?!? LOL We always knew that was a lie. DSA would not be needed if the neoliberal establishment did not destroy the country and through their feckless action, allow Trump to become an acceptable option and actually get elected twice.
@JamieMetzl DSA is being seen an acceptable alternative to many Americans because nearly 50 of neoliberalism and trickle down economics has destroyed the country and made it nearly impossible for normal people to get ahead. I would rather go with DSA than the centrists that lead us to Trump.
@RepJoshG I thought it was vote blue no matter who?!?
We all knew it was horseshit from the beginning.
They would rather fail to fascism than win with social democracy.
@JoeFWall@NicholeDelly Ultimately, luck is the biggest indicator of success more than talent for making it in Hollywood. Whether you know someone, are born into it, or someone discovers you, they are all various forms of luck.
@Facts_Era1@RealEmirHan I think for the most part, "Method" acting either legitimizes mental illness or justifies being an asshole. To quote Gary Oldman, "Any actor who tells you that they have become the people they play, unless they're clearly diagnosed as a schizophrenic, is bullshitting you."
@Wreckeddiver2@DrcharlieWardQ Having a "none of the above" option would dramatically transform elections and the country and perhaps finally force psychopathic criminal demons out of elected office and give people of good moral character a chance to actually win.
@ProudSocialist I just want to be like Finland...social democracy...too bad 95% of the American people do not have any nuance and are blindly partisan.
Blind partisanship and blind adherence to ideology is killing the republic.
I’m saddened to learn of the passing of Senator Sheev Palpatine. We had our differences, but he was a true pleasure to work with. I recall fondly how he brought a much-needed sense of humor to our good-faith negotiations that ended with his decision to bless the military operation to destroy Alderaan.
Though I respectfully voiced my objections, I appreciated his principled honesty in his push to replace the outdated democratic republic with the Empire.
He was a strong advocate for his beliefs, and I admired his power of persuasion that included force-chokes and blue-lightning beams that inflicted significant pain on his political opponents.
He will be missed - the Imperial Senate won’t be the same without him. He was the best of us.
Sam Neill (2025): “It’s not a happy place, America, and I wasn’t happy there. I’m interested in the condition of America now. It beggars belief what’s happening there now. When you hear a slogan like Make America Great Again, it makes a sort of weird sense because America could be great again, but at community level. Not with sort of strange billionaires making weird decisions”
@GHRadio_Mavrick@ryangrim These people have been making too much money living in penthouse apartments in big cities for too long to have any idea what life is like for most Americans.
