O'Brien hinted at whataboutism between that case and the Henry Nowak murder and scoffed at the lack of media coverage of the 'Brown skinned' student's murder

James O'Brien has spent this week insisting that the Henry Nowak murder had absolutely nothing to do with racism or race. If that is the case, then why did James O'Brien feel it necessary to draw parallels between the two cases and talk about the colours of both the perpetrators and victims skin colour?

11-year-old French schoolgirl Lyhanna was found dead in a silo on a farm after going missing near Fleurance in southwestern France last Friday.

She was last seen getting into a car with a man. A major search involving dozens of police and volunteers combed the countryside for days until the body, wearing clothes matching what she had on when she disappeared, was discovered on Thursday.

The 41-year-old father of two who worked on the farm has been detained as the main suspect. He admitted giving the girl a lift but claimed he dropped her off at a swimming pool after being shown security footage.

He has a history of previous complaints for the rape of minors. Two earlier cases from 2017 and 2022 were dismissed, and a third complaint involving a girl born in 2014 was filed in August 2025.

A new rape complaint was filed against him on Wednesday, the day before the body was found. An autopsy is now under way to formally confirm the identity.

Appalling that some women see nothing traumatic in that.
