That's why all you hear is "mental load" and "emotional labor." It's not real labor. It's overthinking.

I am a married man. They don't cook 3 times a day, do laundry every day, or clean every day. It's the overthinking that's causing their exhaustion.

Your body keeps two months of fat in storage and less than one day of carbohydrate, which tells you what it was expecting to run on.
