Esethu Martins, a 26-year-old woman, has been reported missing after she allegedly left home for a job interview and never returned.

According to her family, Esethu has been missing since 17 May 2026. It is believed she was on her way to a job interview, although the exact location where she was supposed to go remains unclear. Her last known whereabouts and the clothing she was wearing are also unknown.

Her family says they are deeply worried about her safety and are appealing to the public for any information that could help locate her.

Tshabalala said he met the patient, identified as Thulani Mthethwa, while visiting a relative at the hospital. Thulani is currently admitted in Ward 17.

The South African Police Service in Delportshoop is appealing to the public for assistance in tracing the family of a man who sadly lost his life after being knocked over by a truck on the R31 road between Koopmansfontein and Danielskuil.

The deceased has been identified as Andile Cingo (38). The accident happened on Sunday, 27 July 2025, at around 19:05.

His body remains unclaimed at the state mortuary, and police believe he may have relatives in Danielskuil, Postmasburg, Lusikisiki, Bizana, or Springs.

Photos of the deceased have been released in the hope that someone may recognise him and help authorities contact his family.

Hello. Some of you mean well and I always appreciate and reflect on your counsel. But not always. For months, @Dischem 's Mark Saltzman (who has now deleted his account ( called me a bitch. I did nothing. I assumed he was another angry troll. I didn't know who he was until he outed himself and talked about his mommy's money.

Last week someone accused me of taking CR17 money. They retracted and apologized. Previously it's CIA, Stellenbosch Mafia, USAID and mysterious "handlers." I let it go so many times. So when you advise me to be restrained you must know I HAVE BEEN restrained. But there are days when things must be addressed. Today is one of them.
Presumably @Dischem is familiar with Mark's vocabulary and they know that he exercises his freedom of speech by calling people who disagree with him "BITCHES" for opposing Israel. I do hope that unlike Mark, they don't demand that their philanthropic interventions are conditional to South Africans supporting Israel. We don't have to. But I can live with the son of the founder of @Dischem and a major shareholder calling me a bitch. Repeatedly. But don't accuse of taking any money that I have not earned. I have also lent my name, time and access to worthy courses. Including for the some of the people who now call me antisemitic. The difference between me and them is that I don't think contributing to OUR South Africa must be transactional and conditional on them bending to my will. Pregnant Woman Killed in Alleged JMPD Hit-and-Run as Family Demands Justice

A 23-year-old pregnant woman, Logan Lemek (pictured), was fatally struck by a vehicle in Mofolo on Monday evening, May 12, 2026, in an incident allegedly involving an off-duty Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officer.

According to eyewitness accounts shared by her friend Robyn Stehlin, the pair had just alighted from a vehicle after attending a job training session. They were walking on the side of the road well clear of the white line when a speeding car swerved erratically left and right before hitting Lemek, throwing her into the air. Lemek was declared dead at the scene.

The driver allegedly fled the scene but was chased down and returned to the area by a bystander. Family members claim that when JMPD officers arrived, reportedly in large numbers they focused on the driver rather than attending to the victim. No immediate medical assistance was provided to Lemek, her family alleges.

The vehicle is believed to belong to a JMPD officer who was reportedly on his way to work. As of Sunday, May 17, no arrest has been made, and the officer has not been publicly identified.

The case has been transferred to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) for an independent probe. JMPD has confirmed it is investigating but stated the officer remains at work pending the outcome.

Lemek's family has expressed outrage, questioning why the suspect has not been detained. "If it was a civilian, that person would have long been arrested," one family member said in media reports.

They family is demanding full accountability and swift justice.

The tragedy has sparked public anger on social media, with many calling for the officer to face immediate consequences and highlighting concerns over police conduct in the incident. IPID's investigation is ongoing.

Many people screamed for “evidence” when Gen Mkhwanazi warned that organised criminal networks had infiltrated parts of SAPS and were working to neutralise top cops fighting organised crime.

● Mogotsi fed Cat Matlala sensitive intelligence info, including property details, vehicle registration numbers and salary information linked to HR/recruitment processes under Crime Intelligence head, Lt Gen Dumisani Khumalo.

● Chaskalson outlined multiple incidents where Mogotsi clearly targeted Gen Khumalo while simultaneously feeding Gen Mkhwanazi lies that Khumalo was plotting against Mkhwanazi, an apparent attempt to divide the two senior officers and disrupt operations from within SAPS. (he can be charged for this if Madlanga recommends so)...

● Mogotsi helped Matlala open a case against the PKTT.

● Mogotsi approached Minister Mchunu in attempts to influence and effect #arrests and #criminal charges.

‼️Enter Faidel Adams: so determined to nail Lt Gen Khumalo that he went shopping for complaints across three different police stations, including Westville prison, until he found some traction in an HR matter.

So Chaskalson pointed out that Adams used Mogotsi’s own co-handler to open the Soweto case, meaning it is the same network, same playbook!

● Chaskalson said Adams and Mogotsi openly targeted both #Mkhwanazi and #Khumalo.

● He said Mogotsi also tried to pressure Minister Mchunu to charge Gen Khumalo in matters unrelated to him. (A matter that was about ANOTHER Khumalo)😂

● Mogotsi also attempted to trap a colonel during Gen Khan’s disciplinary process in a way that could have led to Khumalo being prosecuted for defeating the ends of justice.

● A text message was also referenced in which Mogotsi informed Mchunu that he was meeting DNC Sibiya and Nkabinde in KZN to “finalise” the Mkhwanazi and Khumalo matters (potential charges).

The Commission on Friday painted a picture of coordinated #interference, strategic #leaking, #manipulation of complaint systems, political #influence, and attempts to #destabilise SAPS leadership involved in combating organised crime.

The people who demanded receipts are now watching them being unpacked, one by one, in public.

During the Frank Dialogue Roundtable discussion with Prof JJ Tabane 2 days ago, Julius Malema fielded a bad-faith question from Mike Sham, a known reactionary agitator, who accuses the EFF of being "committed to killing farmers". Malema responded eloquently, making two critical points:

1. There is no such policy in the EFF.
2. The "Kill the Boer" chant is a struggle song and was never meant to be taken literally. The Constitutional Court and lower courts have affirmed this.

But then, Malema doesn't stop talking, and this is where it falls apart.

Instead of being brief, Malema moves to reassure Sham that he's not interested in killing anyone because he (Malema) is just like White people:

"If you want to kill a farmer, start with me. I've got more cows than you. And more cows than many Whites. So don't think when we talk farmer, we talk White person. So you want to kill a farmer, start with me. The EFF will have to start with me. I'm a farmer myself. And therefore, why would I want to kill myself? Why would I want to commit suicide?"

This is a rhetorical tool that Malema uses frequently, as we saw in the now-infamous interview with Jacaranda FM in 2014 (https://t.co/3UwK0R0auo).

Now, there's a common understanding by those in the know that the rich and powerful have more in common with each other than they do with ordinary people.
In the context of political leaders, powerful people like Malema have more in common with the oppressor than with the people they purport to lead. This is just the nature of class relations. It appears that Malema doesn't want to miss an opportunity to remind White people of this.

Once again, in this segment, we see a leader who champions the majority Black poor and marginalised, yet uses his own elite socio-economic status as a shield.

The problem with this is that when Malema flexes his asset wealth to argue that he couldn't possibly support killing farmers because he himself is a major farmer, he is affirming his solidarity with the upper class.

In case anyone thinks I'm stretching this, consider that by bragging about his massive cattle ownership, Malema is placing himself on the same side of the fence as the wealthy White landowners he frequently castigates. He is saying, "Don't worry, I am a member of the landed gentry now too. I have too much capital skin in the game to burn the system down".

Malema goes even further when he says, "If I'm going to kill Whites, I will have to start with the friends of my kids..." This exposes the dissonance in his political messaging. When you read this alongside his "more cows than many Whites" flex, you see a masterclass in a political leader speaking out of both sides of his mouth.

First, his followers hear a Black leader who refuses to be intimidated by White anxiety. He presents his personal integration into elite spaces, with his children attending elite schools with White friends and his massive farm ownership, as aspirational proof that the historically oppressed can conquer the spaces previously reserved for the White minority.

But, second, when you strip away the aggressive posture and look at the actual substance of what he is saying, you see that it is deeply reassuring to the status quo. By invoking his own children's social reality through "the friends of my kids", Malema admits that his daily life is profoundly intertwined with the very demographic his base believes he politically targets. He is weaponising his elitist proximity to White people to neutralise accusations of radical intent.

He is saying to what he frequently refers to as "Whiteness": "Relax. I am a wealthy father with capital assets and deep social ties inside your world. I am not a threat to your lives or your system because my own family's comfortable existence depends on the stability of this exact societal fabric".

My point is that to maintain political power, Malema must continue to do two things: On one hand, he must continuously stoke radical, anti-systemic rhetoric. But then, on the other hand, to maintain his material status as part of the country's ultra-elite, he cannot afford to actually break the system. He can talk about it for sure, but that's a different thing altogether.

So, by constantly reminding White people of his cows, his life in the suburbs, his farming prowess, and his children's White friends, he is working hard to balance on a tightrope by convincing the poor he is going to war for them, while reassuring the wealthy that he is far too heavily invested in the bourgeois lifestyle to ever pull that trigger. A majestic win-win for the CIC.
