The Kisumu Dairy Development Centre (KDDC), situated on 25 acres in Nyangore Village, Chemelil Ward, Muhoroni Sub-County, is one of the strategic investments we have made to strengthen the livestock sector across our county.

Established to improve livestock genetics, enhance dairy productivity, and support farmers through modern breeding technologies, the Centre is laying the foundation for a more competitive and sustainable dairy industry.

Beyond genetic improvement, KDDC is designed to strengthen the entire dairy value chain through milk aggregation and value-addition services, while serving as a centre of excellence where farmers can acquire modern dairy production skills and knowledge.

This investment reflects our commitment to long-term planning, productive partnerships, and the deliberate creation of opportunities for our people. It is through such interventions that we aspire to stimulate growth, expand incomes, and build resilient local economies.

While there is still work ahead, the progress made affirms that we are moving in the right direction. Having already hosted several self-help groups from Muhoroni Sub-County, the Centre remains open to all as we continue working towards a more prosperous and inclusive Kisumu. #TichTire
