@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes And what about the other 1%?
Even if you just have some vendetta against trans people, surely you can agree those other 1% that you can't easily identify or neatly categorize deserve recognition, understanding, and an equal place in society.
@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes Even people that are early in transition who dress in gender-affirming clothing understand they don't "pass".
You the term "pass" comes from the trans community? You're not telling anybody anything new.
@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes Have you ever seen the effects of HRT on a person? Before/after images from people that have been on hormones for several years?
Do you think trans people just dress up and wear make-up?
@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes DNA doesn't even always correlate to sex organs because of how complex these systems are.
Sex is complicated. It's not binary, black and white, heads or tails. Just because most people can be classified in 1 of 2 categories doesn't mean that's a good way to categorize us.
@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes You don't perceive DNA. You perceive people's secondary sexual characteristics, the development of which is based on hormones.
Hormones are *usually* dictated by sex organs which, but you probably don't perceive those when meeting new people either.
@Mysisila@QuietObserver10 @cranium_s @the_nerd_skull No, not listing cis white people among the list of marginalized groups that need extra support is not making them "second-class citizens".
Do you even care what words mean? Is there a point to speaking with you?
@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes DNA related to sexual development doesn't do much after development. Look into gene expression.
Hormones and puberty blockers already effectively override that development. Why would the DNA need to be changed?
Seriously, this isn't "basic biology". It's pretty complex.
@Mysisila@QuietObserver10 @cranium_s @the_nerd_skull "All Lives Matter" was a direct response to "Black Lives Matter", which protested the treatment of black people as second class citizens being killed by police.
It mimics the origins of "white power" popping up just after "black power" chants started during Civil Rights marches.
@CassandraCmplex @reuonihminen @FollowFeminists@mr_xtacle@SoupTransphobes Why would you need to change DNA?
Children should NOT be having surgery. Not without approval from multiple qualified doctors from various disciplines, certainly.
@the_0ther_ @ashe_to_dust @thomasbblakeley @zaelefty Also, your brain is who you are. Your body is basically just a fleshy mech suit being piloted via the nervous system.
I don't know if I'd call that statement a lie, but it is ridiculous.
@the_0ther_ @ashe_to_dust @thomasbblakeley @zaelefty "Chopping your body apart" is hardly how you'd describe a surgical procedure. Most trans healthcare doesn't even involve surgery, even if many eventually seek it.
The goal isn't to "change sex", but to affirm gender. Sexual characteristics can be modified with hormones to do so.
@DanDaniDaniel01@Chao_Draco@MyFloodedhouse @TasheToasty @fazfacts_ The difference in force between compressing a spring halfway and all the way is twice as much. That full force is what comes out when a spring releases. That force would also transfer to the body almost immediately.
Haven't seen the vid so can't say though.
