The commencement ceremony is scheduled for tonight (5/31/23) at 6:00 PM, at the DCU Center. Valedictorian is Lauren Popinchalk, who will study computer engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Last week I hosted 84 incredible young musicians at the Capitol—students from Burncoat High who came to play at the 60th anniversary celebration of MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech. And the Worcester community raised over $15,000 in a flood of donations to make it happen! Amazing!

Though our MMEA All-State Concert is postponed (date TBD), we were able to bring all of our 500 participating students together at the end of the day yesterday so that they could perform for each other! There was an amazing sense of energy and community in the room!

We also got to open our public session with the National Anthem by Burncoat Quadrivium, thanks to Molly McCullough (@mollyom81) asking to bring back our tradition of student groups singing, which also meant we opened with a lovely performance of Ukranian Bell Carol.
