Hey all! Burst Your Bubble is on a hiatus right now. I don’t know when the break will end, but I love making the show and fully intend to do more episodes in the future (so hopefully it’s shorter than longer).
Feel free to reach out here or email [email protected]
me: *critically analyzes anything*
friend: "i wish you could just have fun with media"
me: *deep in the guts of whatever i'm dissecting and ripping apart* "i'm having an amazing time"
Hey all! Not complaining, but I saw a spike in listens for "Blackface, Sounding Black, and Beulah" and "I Love Lucy: The All American Girl and the Latin." Last time this happened it was for an assignment, so if that was your class please share! I'd love to see your syllabus :)

@J_J_Pow@morganrjaffe Also there have always been (and unfortunately always will be) brands with questionable mascots and history. Another of my favorite episodes looks at the Frito bandito: https://t.co/bkVP6xbGGj
Oh and hi new listeners! Glad you started with this episode. Burst Your Bubble looks at -isms and -phobias in pop culture - everything from branding and ads to movies and TV to music and games. All episodes are over at https://t.co/LCdRYC6CN4 or wherever you listen to podcasts.
I've gotten lots of messages today - if you haven't heard #AuntJemima is changing their brand name and image.
If you want to learn the full history check out our #podcast episode from February 2018 here: https://t.co/slQpy9rqX8

Hi all! I saw a big spike in listens last week even though I haven’t released a new episode in a bit. If you’re a new listener welcome and if you’re an old friend hi again! I’m glad you’re all still interested in the podcast and feel free to get in touch 😊
The idea that I’m supposed to be using this time to be productive and engaging and transformative is infuriating. I’m trying to stay alive, rebuilding myself from the ground up every morning when my anxiety and depression would prefer I do otherwise. That’s damn hard work.

Check out this past #podcast episode about romcoms and how they show love: https://t.co/yYJrhg7mAS
Not only do these films end up romanticizing persistent, possessive, and stalking behavior, but they normalize them too.

New episode! Let’s talk about Joker, because here’s the thing: in a world where we can see real life mass shootings on our screens, why do we need a movie that celebrates and sympathizes with the shooter?

No new episode today (there were 5 Thursdays in January) but we’ll be back with a new one next week! Till then you’ll just have to catch up on an old episode. https://t.co/JOHVXuJU4Q
