It’s crazy how EA Sports:

- builds their own engine made for Battlefield and FPS games (frostbite)

- puts NHL and other sports games out on that engine even though it’s not optimized

- says it’s because of visuals but the gameplay is the worst it has ever been

- won’t buy out a different engine despite being worth BILLIONS of dollars (plus now it’s too late since they have to “start from scratch” if they go on a new one but that might be a good thing in the long run)

- creates “ICE-Q” to patch up holes with the AI on frostbite since again it isn’t optimized

- did I mention they’re worth BILLIONS of dollars??

Funny story about this guy, back when I used to play goalie in EASHL and was pretty high up on the leaderboard, I messaged him pretty respectfully to let him know some improvements I thought should be added to the game for goalies.

One day later, I was blocked.

Not to mention everyone wanted them out last year and they doubled down making them more prominent.

Want to clear up one misconception: #NHL27 Connected Franchise is not limited to one season. Your league does not end after Year 1.

You can continue the same league, and roster moves like trades and free agent claims will carry forward. But for this year, aspects like player aging, retirement, season stats, do not carry over.

In all honesty, what's the point of bringing it back then? Not everyone has 32 people to start a franchise with. Some just have 2 or 3 people they want to play with.

Would've been better off not including it at all.
