According to ISTEEBU, poverty affects almost 2/3 of the population with a strong dominance in rural areas. The poverty rate in 2014 was 64.6% of the total population. With this situation, it is hard for poor people in Burundi to afford medicines #ActOnNCDs #HealthForAll .4/4

In Burundi, #NCDs are estimated to account for 32% of all deaths based on the WHO country profile in 2016. The government acknowledges their burden but allocates small budget .It is urgent to increase the funds for #NCDs which will reduce many deaths.#ActOnNCDs . 3/4
