One Nation will tell you Pauline Hanson is the only one fighting for them. “Australians first.” The whole MAGA-pitch. Here's who she's spent her life fighting against:
• Aboriginal ppl— opposed Native Title and Welcome to Country; wants to abolish the National Indigenous Australians Agency to “save” $12.5B; her 2020 “Close the Gap” speech called Aboriginal parents lazy & negligent
- Nurses & aged care workers — $20,000–$34,000 worse off under Hanson. Called nurses overpaid
. Immigrants & refugees — wants to deport 75,000 “illegal migrants,” withdraw from the UN Refugee Convention, cut immigration to a 130,000 visa cap, with no economic modelling on the cost to Aust,
• Public schools — voted almost always against incr funding for public schools, incl cuts that stripped support from students with disability
• Teachers — pushed a narrative schools have “poor academic standards” & a lot of teachers can’t read & write properly.
• Students with disability — said they don't belong in mainstream classrooms because they're “disruptive”
• Welfare recipients— supported mandatory drug testing for recipients, & when a senator opposed it, publicly used that senator's son's drug addiction against her
• Welfare recipients broadly — $90B spending-cut plan targets the NDIS, Medicare & welfare payments, with no independently costed detail on how or any alternative method to support these vulnerable groups,
• Disabled Australians— wants to scrap wheelchair-access requirements for new homes
- Trans Australians — called it a “militant force” & “subversive transgender insurgency” that “must be dismantled; said trans “propaganda” was being imposed on children in schools. Trans Australians make up 1% of the pop’n.
• Childcare workers —questioned why they need qualifications, asking why centres need “people with some sort of degree to look after a child”
• Families /childcare access — voted consistently against incr childcare support, called the system “completely out of control”
• Asian-Australians — infamous 1996 maiden speech claiming we are being, “swamped by Asians”
• Muslim Australians — Senate burqa stunt got her suspended by Parliament, called for a Muslim immigration ban, said in 2026 there are no “good” Muslims
• African-Australian communities — pushed an “African gang” rhetoric against the actual data
• LGBTQ+ Australians — opposed marriage equality
• Domestic violence victims — repeatedly claimed women lie about abuse to win family court cases
• Women's reproductive rights — pushes to roll back abortion access nationally
• Women's pay / parental leave — dismissed the gender pay gap & said women shouldn't be paid on parental leave because “they're not at work”
- pledged to sack the Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Human Rights Commission
• Rape victims — kept convicted rapist Sean Black on staff for years & defended it
• Working Australians — opposed the minimum wage rise & tax break for low-paid workers, while taking a $100k pay rise
• Casual workers; voted no to same job, same pay
• Coal miners: a deal with the LNP cost mineworkers $16M in entitlements
• Pensioners;opposed pension increases
• Renters / home buyers; voted almost always against incr housing affordability
• Journalists — banned the ABC, voted consistently to cut ABC/SBS funding, called a reporter “trashy”
- Australians who rely on global health & scientific cooperation —wants to withdraw Australia from the WHO & the UN, abolished the TGA in her spending plan, rejects the IPCC’s climate science consensus, and wants to scrap net zero and the Department of Climate Change

So; yes, Hanson is “Australia first” — as long as you're not:
Aboriginal,
a nurse,
an aged care worker,
a public school student,
a teacher,
disabled,
rely on welfare,
in childcare,
Asian,
Muslim,
African,
gay,
transgender,
a survivor of abuse,
a woman,
a worker,
a pensioner, a
renter,
a journalist, or
someone who trusts science

So who, exactly, is she fighting for?

This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect.
"Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth."

Karl Stefanovic being sacked for platforming Tommy Robinson this week isn’t completely about who he interviewed — it’s about how. Robinson is a former British National Party member turned white supremacist agitator who pushes “Remigration” — the forced removal of non-white people — in coded language. Stefanovic never raised any of it. He told Robinson he admired his “tenacity and courage,” agreed when Robinson talked about whipping up anger to “cause an earthquake” — “why not, this is a great country and it’s so lost” — and asked him how the right could “take power” here within three years. He posted himself with his arm around Robinson, the two laughing together. That’s not investigative journalism. That’s normalising an extremist.

There’s nothing new about journalists interviewing extremists — done properly, it’s some of the most important journalism there is. When BBC’s Question Time put BNP leader Nick Griffin in front of 8 million viewers in 2009, the panel tore into his Holocaust denial and links to extremist groups on live television. When Vice News embedded with white nationalists in Charlottesville in 2017, the resulting documentary won a Peabody and four Emmys — for capturing them in their own words, threats included, with nothing softened. Hard questions, no flattery, the extremist exposed rather than humanised. Stefanovic did the opposite.

This is the same Stefanovic who once praised multiculturalism on air and told his own immigrant grandparents’ story. His podcast now runs on the opposite frame entirely — Hanson as his debut guest in January, back again in May, a Robinson interview landing six days after Hanson told the National Press Club “we must be monocultural.” No explanation was ever given for his complete ideological about-face. The timing lines up with one thing only: his move from network TV, where this would never be allowed to air, to an unaccountable, monetised podcast where it can.

Why? Money. Kyle Sandilands took a $12 million payout from his old network and is now openly “sharpening” Hanson’s messaging on a new show. Multiple high-profile broadcasters landing on the identical politics in the identical commercial window isn’t conviction. It’s a market — and sadly platforming white supremacists and normalising them is what’s currently selling.
