One of the coolest things about covering teams deep into the playoffs is getting to see what makes truly great teams tick. This moment from last night’s Regional Final with the Lady Wolves speaks volumes.

All eyes are on Coach Catherall in the huddle — everyone locked in, no distractions, no looking around, even when things aren’t going their way. This is the essence of being coachable.

Being coachable isn’t always easy; it takes humility and focus. It’s no coincidence though that the most successful athletes and teams have learned to absorb, adapt, and grow. The Lady Wolves are proof of that!

The @bushlandhoops Lady Falcons drop a back and forth battle to @Gruver_ISD today 48-43. Kortlyn Born exploded for 18 in the 2nd half leading the Lady Hounds to a come from behind victory. Coach Allen’s Lady Falcons though young were flying around the court defensively and played with tempo and poise offensively. Excited to watch this team continue to grow, they will be a force to reckon with come District play!

The Bushland Lady Falcons battled their way to a sweep over the West Plains Lady Wolves last night at Lubbock Cooper: 25-12, 25-23, 25-22!

I have never called a Bushland Falcon football game in which I didn’t call the name Charley Pitt or Easton Fuentes. To say it’s been a privilege to cheer them on over the years wouldn’t do it justice. 2 of the hardest working, team first and humble young men you will ever meet. Excited that they will both be playing on Saturdays next year.
