@TaylorCope1982@klay88@mrblairbowman Totally agree. Would not buy one now.
It was a different ball game 30 years ago. Taxes, storage, labelling, bottling, delivery, insurance was all included. Plus it was an old established distillery with track record back to 1608 and a very special Millennium offering.
@TaylorCope1982 Cost £4,500 for 282 bottles. It was at the time the oldest whiskey Bushmills Distillery had ever made and they are the oldest licensed distillery in the world. It was their pride and joy. So I took a punt and bought a cask.
16 years in a Sherry and 8 in a Bourbon cask.
@TaylorCope1982 The oldest Whiskey Bushmills had ever made 1975-1999. Only sold by the full cask of 250 bottles but the angels were generous. After 24 years in storage I finally sold stock to @IrishSpirit_
@TaylorCope1982 The 1982 - 18 year old Bushmills Millennium. This was on general sale. Because it might not taste as fantastic as the 1975 24 year old Private Cask only Bushmills Millennium. But it does come in a lovely wooden presentation box and it would look really good in the collection.
@anon_opin Even when you used to own a entire private cask full... 1975-1999. Still available on https://t.co/3I4aqvDbXf the oldest whiskey Bushmills had ever made back in 1975.
@TaylorCope1982 24 year old, triple distilled, non chill filtered, 1975 Bushmills Millennium bottled in 1999. Matured 16 years in a Sherry Hogs head & 8 in American Oak Bourbon barrel at Bushmills Distillery.
Those bottles belong to @IrishSpirit_
You can taste the history and pedigree.
@whiskytimes Bushmills Millennium malt was triple distilled in 1975 by the oldest licensed distillery. Bottled in 1999 in time for the Millennium.
The casks were private sale only & cost £4700.
Bottles of this rare & fab whiskey are still available https://t.co/YqYS5XT0FK

@IrishSpirit_ Bushmills!
We were on a distillery tour the day they told us about this special whiskey. All the private barrels apart from 2 were already sold. The oldest whiskey Bushmills had distilled at that time.
48 years later, it is a highly collectable & investment bottle
Distilled by the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in 1975, bottled just in time for the 2000 Millennium celebrations.
Great fill level and super rare highly collectable blank "selected for" label.
Only one place to buy #cask368@IrishSpirit_

@whiskeychap@Jotterface I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the paintwork on the jugs to be honest but they are the official branded product, they were all like that.
They were a gift from me to go in the boxes so hope people still liked them.
