It’s just great Sarah Kilpatrick, an art teacher who studied Art History is leading the @nationaleducationunion this year.. The @theartsandmindscampaign is hugely important in pushing back against the Governments, surprisingly, still Govian thinking on education.
Eleven post-war buildings that people love.❤️
C20 Society Chair, @hughpearman, recently met up with Thomas Heatherwick at his King’s Cross studio, to discuss the attention-grabbing Humanise campaign with its criticism of ‘boring’ post-war buildings and ground rules on how to make new buildings more engaging.
Hugh came armed with a longlist of post-war buildings that the Society reckoned fulfilled the Humanise principles. Could they agree on a Top Ten of not-at-all-boring buildings? As it turned out, they compiled an Elevated Eleven.

🏡 Goldsmith Street in Norwich is celebrated as a benchmark for sustainable, high-quality housing. Designed by @MikhailRiches, it combines bold design with Passivhaus energy standards — all within a layout that feels unmistakably rooted in Norwich’s historic streetscape.
Exciting to hear news of a Red Kite on the island yesterday, spotted by Stephen Ryan. Even better to see it still present this morning! Quite a raggedy-looking young bird, but still a thrill to watch. This is the first record here for almost exactly a year
Shout out to the gardening team at Golders Hill Park, with Heath Hands, for their hard work in the Hill Garden & Pergola! They've been weeding, clearing, and replanting to keep our garden thriving. Check out the fantastic results! ✨ #HampsteadHeath
It's a big day! 48 years after being excavated below footing level and partially demolished, we have now stabilised the exceptional assaying forge of the Tudor @RoyalMintUK at the @TowerOfLondon!
Great discussion about the university at St Columb’s Hall, featuring several generations of journalists and commentators, including @eamonderry and @GAHargan (pictured here with chair Anita Villa) and @nphegarty.
Thanks to @ConalFeely for the photos.
‘I wrote my book to show that Derry must not be treated like a second class city’
A Scandal in Plain Sight author @GAHargan tells today’s Think Left conference at St Columb’s Hall.
Good piece by @edwinheathcote. Large, challenging sites like @CromfordMills have also been saved and repurposed - lots of lessons from other places to bring to this.
