It's nearly Shabbat here in the 3500 year old indigenous Jewish homeland and holy land of Israel.

I have done my jobs and cooked the Shabbat food. We are having turkey necks and turkey meatballs in a rich soup with lots of vegetables, fresh tuna in an orange juice, lemon juice and lemon baladi sauce. And I have made a fruit compote with red wine, orange juice, lemon juice, honey, ginger and spices.

So first of all sending love and blessings to all our brave young people serving in the @IDF and in other Israeli armed forces and security services. Thank you so much for your service and for putting your own lives on the line to protect ours here in Israel. I am praying that Hashem keeps you safe, brings you home and gives you much love and many blessings in the future.

To all real Britons and other real Europeans who simply want to live in peace and security in your own native countries, may God protect you but please stand up and be counted now. The whole mess created by traitorous politicians allowing in millions of immigrants following a far more barbaric, violent, misogynistic, antisemitic and theo-Nazi belief system than our own hard won freedoms and human rights equally for all is exploding. You all need to claim your own countries back from those who have betrayed you. Mass deportations of millions of unwanted and uninvited immigrants - NB all lawful immigrants who love their new countries, work, enjoy the freedoms and human rights, and respect the Judeo-Christian ethical foundation and rich culture of the country they are living in are welcome to remain, of course - are badly needed.

It's been a difficult week remembering the horrors of October 7th three years ago, but I feel that all of us privileged to live in @Israel need to live our lives for the sake of those whose lives were so cruelly and needlessly cut short as well of course as our own. Make the most of the amazing gift of life that God has given us, strive to be a better, kinder human being, and don't stop standing up strongly for Israel and Israelis. And seek to come together as one while of course respecting our differences, whether secular, religious, Hareidi, confused or any other kind of Jew, Arabs, Christians, Muslims, Bahai, atheists, or anything or anyone else as Israelis, because ultimately this is OUR country and no one else's. And there are many other people seeking to commit genocide against us simply because we live here.

United, we are invincible.

And I will be honest about what I think regarding Hareidi conscription. Also of course the conscription of Arabs, at least many of them. Whoever enjoys the benefits of living in the liberal democracy and technological power house that Israel is nowadays, should surely help to protect our tiny land and its citizens where we can.

As a Jewish rebbetzin myself, I do believe many Hareidi young men SHOULD serve in the IDF. Not because I don't respect their values, on the contrary, Jewish men ALWAYS used to fight to protect our homeland if needed to do so in antiquity. And the Gedolim usually worked for a living as well as learning and teaching. Sure, those exceptional men who are likely to become rabbis, teachers and inspirational leaders, should continue to be exempt. The IDF for its part needs to ensure that Hareidi men can continue to have their religious needs respected fully while serving and allow at least reasonable space to pray and get in a little study each day unless of course actively engaged in combat.

It's a question of all those in the Israeli government @netanyahu to find a way to be more flexible. But I really believe that the numbers involved and needed are such that we cannot continue the way we have.

Anyway, wishing a beautiful and relaxing Shabbat Shalom to all Jews everywhere and a wonderful and refreshing weekend to everyone else.
