A couple of years ago I was trying to come up with a list of celebrities/public figures that were still living and universally beloved. It's an almost impossible task, but ultimately came up with 3 people:

Dolly Parton
Carol Burnett
Michael J Fox

Of the three, the only one that came to mind immediately was Dolly. I'm not sure if any famous person over the past century has ever been held in higher regard nor can I think of anyone who was more deserving of it.
