How can the Democratic Party and labor unions rely on software (VAN AND LAN) owned by a $2B private equity fund. Time to line up our software with our values.
This is yet another reason why Democratic campaigns and state parties need more than one software option to run their campaigns and maintain their data.
Great article: need to both persuade existing voters *and* recruit new people to start voting to win elections says @WayToWinAF. But VAN is built on the voterfile, not all households with unregistered. Our database and software are designed too narrowly. https://t.co/048bjE5INm
This is really interesting piece. 2021 is a time of opportunity for much greater access by regular people to political tools that empower the dispersed majority to overcome voter suppression and act together to block the mob from stealing our Republic. https://t.co/soHZtBNQPv
This is an important story. Really great that people tried hard to move away from monopoly campaign software and duopoly data providers in the left-of-center space. So much more progress to be made to liberate those who want better options. https://t.co/VwIwzRuadi
Our latest newsletter features HowManyVotes and how you and your team can use it to keep track in real-time of your efforts to persuade your Senators or Council Members (or even regular people) to vote your way is here: https://t.co/gdfAH2OJrL
@rabble This is a bit of a dodge. The decision makers include all of us, especially as it relates to funding projects between cycles to build reusable platforms. We can all raise money to fund projects. Otherwise, great thread. Thanks.
What we want from political campaigns is millions of everyday citizens to feel the sense of power and possibility and inspired by their experience, take the next steps in forcing an ever-more just, democratic government into being over the objections of those in power.
Mass movements to overthrow entrenched, autocratic power require massive amounts of regular citizens with other jobs and responsibilities besides politics to devote a lot of time and leadership towards this volunteer activity.
They are given lists of strangers to contact, either over the phone or in person. They are, essentially, free labor for telemarketing or door to door sales tightly managed by campaign headquarters who calculate and calibrate the proper message to deliver to specific people.
We are now live and loaded with the voter file in 21 states and DC: CA, CT, GA, HI, IA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MS, MT, NH, NJ, NY, PA, SC, VA, VT, WI and WV!
Our latest newsletter is out featuring extreme targeting of voters and unregistered residents with lat minute 4 cent texts! Plus big upgrades to a query tools for VoterHub clients. https://t.co/0zwi8u2Evl
Another good #NationalVoterRegistrationDay opportunity is to text the people in your phone a reminder to register to vote (and to follow up). The free @VoterHive app on iOS helps you do that. https://t.co/12B5hfoyVO
