🚨🚨 EXCLUSIVE: ARNE SLOT AND LIVERPOOL TO PART WAYS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. 💣
It’s over between the Dutch manager and Liverpool after end of the season review. 👋🏼
Andoni Iraola, clear favorite to take over as next #LFC head coach.
Despite it maybe not being the most entertaining game of football, I still walk away from tonight with a huge amount of pride watching Ireland.
We seen three senior international debuts tonight and three brilliant stories in completely different ways.
Corrie Ndaba made his debut after a career path that at one stage looked like it may never reach senior international football. Things didn’t go his way in the EFL with Ipswich and loan spells, but he grafted, rebuilt himself at Kilmarnock, earned a move to Lecce in Serie A and now looks like a real option for Ireland at left-back or left centre-back. A brilliant story of hard work and perseverance.
Then on the flip side you have Jaden Umeh, probably the most naturally gifted underage player I’ve watched in green. From U15 level upwards he has constantly been the best player on the pitch and somehow keeps getting better. Teams double up on him, triple up on him, and he still produces moments nobody else can. His first touch tonight summed him up perfectly, fearless, direct and full of confidence. So often young Irish players come on wanting not to make mistakes, but he instantly tried to light the game up. He has the potential to become a really special player for Ireland.
And then we seen the debut of Mason Melia. Honestly, for what he has already shown in the League of Ireland at 15, 16 and 17 years of age, I genuinely don’t think we’ve seen many like him before. He was arguably the best number nine in the league last year while still basically a kid and he just keeps improving. He didn’t get loads of touches tonight, but it was still a massive and fully deserved moment for an outstanding young striker.
Ireland may not have played free-flowing football tonight, but seeing three young lads begin what hopefully become long international careers was something special. The future is exciting.

Things that slot has tried loads this season and it’s never worked
- frimpong RW
- gravenberch CB after bringing off konate
- 4-2-4
- grow hair
Just boring isn’t it? Same taking points after every game.
Bringing in “2 pacey wingers” don’t resolve any managerial, tactical or authority issues that are quite clearly visible.
