South Africa has begun the process to #ratifyC190. But every day delayed is too long. We call @GovernmentZA to prioritise adopting this @ILO international standard.
ALL Workers are entitled to a safe working environment, free from violence, discrimination and harassment. #C190 will prevent and protect workers from #GBVH#RatifyC190
“@WHO estimates 35 per cent of women worldwide experience physical and/or sexual violence”. When this happens in the workplace, it is often difficult for survivors to report it. #C190 will empower and protect women in the workplace. #RatifyC190
#C190 will address “sexual harassment, verbal abuse, bullying, mobbing, threats and stalking, single as well as repeated acts” and require employers to put measures in place to prevent and punish these human rights violations.

South Africa is in the process of ratifying #C190. While the process has begun, every day until it is complete is another day where workers are not protected by the @ILO’s new convention. #ratifyC190
#C190 will not only address the #GBVH that many women face, but it will also protect workers of all genders by requiring all employers to have policies that prevent and protect against violence and harassment.

“Every employer has an obligation to create a safe and conducive environment to fight the burden of harassment in the workplace”. To make this a reality, we must #ratifyC190.
