So there was an estate sale over in Flower Mound on Friday morning.
Lots of NASA stuff.
They released the adress at 0800 and I got there at 0820. Already a huge line and no place to park.
I gave up, but I got to put 50 miles on the GR86!
Two months until the track day with it!
I got launched on a J-Alert in the 141. It included an AR over the Atlantic - at night of course - on our way to Ascencion Island and then onwards to whatever African country was having a coup.
Zaire maybe? Mid 1990s.
Anyway, I had not had a plug in 80 days so I was still "current". But I remember hanging on that boom at night with some random O-6 in the jumpseat looking over my shoulder on a mission being monitored by the White House and I thought those captain bars on my shoulders never weighed so much.
One of the great things about the military - you get so much responsibilty at such a young age. I think I was 28 and the Aircraft Commander on a mission like this.
Oh, I got the gas. Then told both of my copilots that I was taking a nap and climbed into the upper bunk.
@Rainmaker1973 This absolutely works, including on a stainless steel pan. Get it very hot, then dump ice on it. The metal contracts, loosening whatever is stuck to it.
@tuuu28283 I got my car back from the body shop! Someone hit me while I was parked and did not leave a note.
The car is only 3 months old and has 490 miles on it. I had to get the damage fixed because it would make me angry every time I walked up to it!

Anyone who ever played GTA III.
If you did not stop what you were doing and just drive around the city when this song came on - you are lying.
I did the opposite Buzz.
My dad was stationed at Scott AFB Illinois. He got remarried the summer between my junior and senior year.
We were moving, but only
15 miles. But enough to move me out of my school district.
So my choice was change high schools starting my senior year while still next to the people I knew, played sports with and were my whole life or...something else.
I chose Option B.
I started at the new high school, and had enough AP credits to graduate in December. I packed up my Toyota Celica in January and said see ya Illinois and started as a freshman at Arizona State at 17 years old.
It all worked out because here I am!
