We are Cornwall Against Dean Superquarry, challenging Tidal Lagoon boss attempts to develop a Superquarry within an AONB, SSSI, SAC & Marine Conservation Zone.
Well, it would seem that Mark Shorrock’s dream of building a Tidal Lagoon in Swansea Bay, using rock from his Cornish Quarry is over. Let’s wait and see what he dreams up next for Dean Quarry. What a David & Goliath journey this has been.
@Ianrichards74 @RachelReevesMP HMG’s rejection of Tidal Lagoon was down to the developer. We remember that infamous Joint Select Committee meeting well. https://t.co/8A4eKyxAmC
@WalesOnline@BBCWalesNews Continued from 1/2. A second letter confirming expiration of the Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay DCO was sent by Swansea Council to the developer on 8.7.20. This 3 page letter threatens a court injunction against the developer if work should resume.
@WalesOnline@BBCWalesNews Freedom of information shows on 30.6.20 Swansea Council wrote to developer behind Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay disputing their claims that recent work had kept project DCO open in perpetuity. A second letter was sent 1/2
On July 1st 2020 the U.K. Government sent a letter to the developer of Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay to confirm that the projects Development Consent Order had expired. Please see the attached two pages of this letter.
@jf_hanley You are incredibly close to the mark, John. Mark Shorrock of many Tidal Lagoon companies has set up shop in not China, but Vietnam. This video was uploaded onto You Tube about a week ago and filmed in Gloucestershire. https://t.co/wtR7NbP0mY
No such reassurance letter has ever been received by Shorrock of @TidalLagoon in his capacity as owner of Shire Oak Quarries. Taking down https://t.co/PMHHkTvnky website on 24.6.20 that STILL displayed Tidal Lagoon rock hopes is a costly gesture too late.
@TidalLagoon@BBCWalesNews@YoulePost@adamvaughan_uk@emilygosden @sionbarry @DerekThomasUK @Cllr_robstewart Yes, so it’s such a shame for the board of TLSB, & so terribly confusing for us that Mark Shorrock, your CEO STILL states on his Shire Oak Quarry website that he hopes to supply rock to the UK’s emerging Tidal Lagoon industry. We took this screen shot of his website on 23.6.20.
