[EIC Scaling Club @ScalingClubEIC]

@CAILabs and cylib have been selected for potential equity investments of between €10 million and €30 million through the EIC STEP Scale Up scheme, subject to due diligence and successful negotiations.

Cailabs is developing the ground infrastructure needed to make high-speed laser communications deployable at scale, strengthening Europe’s capabilities in secure satellite connectivity. 🛰️

cylib is building a more circular battery value chain by recovering critical raw materials from end-of-life batteries, helping reduce waste and Europe’s dependence on imported resources. 🔋

The STEP Scale Up scheme is designed to help strategic European technology companies secure larger financing rounds and move breakthrough innovations towards industrial and commercial scale.

This recognition reflects the progress both companies are making in technologies that matter for Europe’s competitiveness, resilience and strategic autonomy.

Congratulations to the Cailabs and cylib teams on reaching this important stage!

The European Commission recently moved towards reserving two-thirds of an important spectrum band. This proposal exemplifies spectrum’s status as a strategically important yet finite resource, and it must be treated as such.

Europe’s #DefenceTech sector is scaling fast. But one overlooked bottleneck could derail that growth. 🇪🇺 🚀

In this article, Jean-Francois Morizur, CEO and co-founder of @CAILabs, argues that expanding factories is only part of the challenge. Supply chains need to scale just as quickly.

A DefenceTech company may raise funding, secure orders and increase production capacity, only to find that one scarce component prevents it from delivering.

As governments invest heavily in defence and other #critical technologies, strengthening the supplier base will be essential to turning industrial ambition into real output.
