🚨 Sunderland confirm they are in talks with Lutsharel Geertruida over making his loan deal from RB Leipzig permanent.
💴 The club have the option to purchase the defender for £18m.
❌ Dennis Cirkin, Dan Neil and Niall Huggins all leave the club after their contracts expired.
❌ Bertrand Traore is also released after #SAFC decided against taking up the one-year option on his deal.
a year on and we have won a trophy, are back in the champions league they finished bottom half and their newly promoted biggest rivals have got europe, funny old game #avfc
What the f*** does Palestine have to do with fixing the potholes on my road? Or removing the junkies from my local park? Absolutely nothing yet here we are using it as an election tactic. I'm so sick of politicians caring about everything except the UK. Fuck off to gaza and get elected there.
I say it all the time but I hate this. City’s fans are mostly working class from Manchester, they were at Wembley a few weeks ago, they’re there every year, they go deep into CL every year. There’s only so much anyone can afford. The issue here is FA Cup semi finals at Wembley
🇫🇷 Nordi Mukiele:
🗣️ “I have to say a big thank you to Granit because he explained to me everything, exactly what they wanted to do (at Sunderland).
And it has happened. I made the decision to come here and I am proud and happy about it. He convinced me it was a good project. Exactly everything he’s said would happen, has happened.”
🇨🇭 Granit Xhaka:
🗣️ “We took a big step from Leverkusen. Everyone knows what we did there, winning nearly everything, and it was a big step to come from a Champions League team to a newly promoted side.
But I had a gut feeling and sometimes the feeling is better than anything else. When the club asked me ‘who else could we bring?’ my first thought was Nordi. I spoke with him and thank god he listened. I just didn’t know he could score so much, he never did it in Leverkusen!”

🗣️ “The team are starting to believe we can achieve special things this season.
🗣️ “Let’s try and catch as many points as we can in the last 6 games, why not? Let’s see where we are at the end!”
This is their problem, they think they are too big to take the game seriously, always saying another game is bigger for them. They are the only ones to think they are a big club, but let them crack on being this arrogant and we'll just keep collecting the 3 points 👍🏼
Our record against Sunderland is baffling.
We are by far the better side, by far the bigger club with a much bigger fanbase. It honestly makes no sense.
The only way I can explain it is that for them it’s a cup final and for us, it’s a big derby #HWTL
Better than us on the pitch, better than us off the pitch, and better than us in the stands. AGAIN. That’s why it’s so tough to accept.
They’ll mock us relentlessly and it’s 100% deserved. Clearer each week that we aren’t what we think we are as a club. Huge reality check.
Newcastle were outclassed by Manchester City this evening. Barely got a kick in the second half. It’s probably time to stop all this talk of competing for Premier League titles and the Champions League in four years. They are still miles behind English football’s dominant force #nufc
