The work GP practices do (and how they do it) matters hugely to #productivity in the NHS.
Last week @Cambridge_Uni brought new evidence to light on how seeing the same doctor over time matters (continuity).
But that is only half the story…

Nice piece of analysis and commentary from Rachel Hutchings @NuffieldTrust on #Carers working & employed within the NHS - getting this right by supporting working carers has impt implications for retention of highly trained staff. https://t.co/hqyoRwc5j7
Agree with the need for evidence to drive policy - always important - but particularly in AI space. @sib313 eloquently making this point.
The mythbuster: The idea that AI can solve major NHS problems is marketing snake oil https://t.co/nese7d1QcL
With a five-year mandate, there is a real opportunity for the new government to bring forward long-awaited reforms for social care & deliver on its promises.
@CamilleOung asks an impt Q: what has happened to funding earmarked for social care reform?

Thoughtful reflections from @ashjamesphysio & @HSJnews on first contact physios in primary care.
We need more GPs. We need more FCPs.
No one gains – least of all, patients – if it becomes a conversation pitching roles against each other.

"Whenever I was in hospital, I felt that there was a tunnel visioned focus on the physical health of my body, detached from me as a sentient human being."

Trigger warning - really stark, alarming findings about parent carers from @unibirmingham. Parent carers are so often forgotten, fall through the cracks between children's and adult services and are too often left without any support for them as carers(1) https://t.co/zL5l4yYdhU
@DrAnnaDixon We at Nuffield Trust have deep repository of knowledge and published work on both primary care and social care - always happy to help answer questions & offer insight from our stable of work in these areas.
@rachelpower222 This is really critical. Patient voice and patient experience need to be core part of thinking about what makes 'good' performance. Also patience experience - both good and bad - drives behaviours that shape value & performance for NHS as a system.

V grateful for excellent training today from @NHSProviders (board development) it's been fantastic. Glad to get a quick break and refresh my head in @RoyalPapworth gardens (& have a chat w Jake and Holly from respiratory outpatients!)
Brilliant conversation on @BBCRadio4 on experience of #carers and value of unpaid caring. Highlighting experience of carers who step out of paid employment to provide care, & challenge of returning to employment.
@MorganSagartia @Davewwest@wesstreeting We have seen a 21% decrease in real terms finding for local authority public health grant in last 7 years - knock impact on prevention agenda including sure start and reduced support for unpaid carers for eg. Investment here is sorely needed.
@ShaunLintern Getting right policies in place to support productivity for NHS by supporting risk management and continuity in general practice - key evidence here https://t.co/gev8OF6JqR
