🇻🇪🇺🇸 Os EUA passaram a ser donos dos 17 principais campos petrolíferos da Venezuela, com cerca de 65 bilhões de barris de petróleo da reserva venezuelana sendo entregues para a posse dos EUA, com um valor de mercado de cerca de US$ 5,4 trilhões, considerando o barril cotado a US$ 83 dólares.

Os EUA garantiram 100 anos de direitos de exploração sobre os 17 principais campos petrolíferos venezuelanos, com 55% da produção efetiva indo diretamente para os EUA, além da compra por preço de custo garantida a empresas dos EUA.

A única contrapartida que a Venezuela "ganha" com isso é a promessa de US$ 100 bilhões em investimento dos EUA na infraestrutura de extração de petróleo para viabilizar a produção. Basicamente, a Venezuela entregou boa parte da sua reserva de petróleo em troca de receber investimentos dos EUA para a extração do próprio petróleo entregue, ficando sem soberania sobre sua própria reserva e sem receber lucro real pela exploração petrolífera.
