In 2025, we reduced operational GHG emissions by 25% from our 2020 baseline, completed construction of California's first commercial CCS facility and delivered approximately 4.6 billion gallons of treated, reclaimed water to California water districts.

We also expanded MiQ “Grade A” certification across our operations and invested more than $2 million in workforce training, education, food security and local economic development across California. (2/3)

California’s crude oil market operates differently from many other energy-producing regions.

Because the state isn’t connected to major U.S. crude oil pipeline networks, more than 75% of the oil California consumes comes from outside the state.

Responsible in-state production helps keep a portion of that supply closer to where it’s consumed—while operating under California’s rigorous environmental and labor standards and supporting investment and economic activity across the state.

This episode was the culmination of a full day with the CRC team studying California’s oil and gas complex firsthand. We started at the Port of Long Beach, traveled north to CRC’s Elk Hills operations near Bakersfield, and ended the day in Santa Clarita, where we sat down with Francisco to discuss what we had seen and the broader outlook for California energy.
