In Their Own Words: California Democrats say they oppose gerrymandering.
Now they’re lining up behind Gov. Newsom’s scheme to gut independent redistricting.
Let’s rewind the tape. 🎥👇
Northern Inyo Healthcare District and its chief executive officer, Christian Wallis, were recently recognized by State Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil for their leadership, service, and commitment to healthcare across the Eastern Sierra.

AB 2108 Will Put Criminals Back on Your Streets.
Californians voted for Prop 36 in every single county. Now Democrats are gutting it with a bill that lets retail thieves walk with a diversion program instead of consequences. This tells every criminal in California that voters do not matter and consequences do not exist. #FixCalifornia
California’s parole board commissioners have pr oven they cannot be trusted with their duty to keep the public safe from monsters. I voted to remove them and replace them with commissioners who will place victim’s rights first

This is my statement regarding today’s Senate vote to approve the reappointment of five presiding commissioners to California’s Board of Parole Hearings.

Your Grocery Bill Is an Energy Bill.
Ground beef up 19%. Tomatoes up 50%. Coffee up 29%. Energy costs drive every step of the food supply chain from growing to freezing to shipping. California already has the highest energy costs in the nation because of CARB mandates and a decade of policies that killed domestic production. Every bad energy decision made in this state shows up at your grocery store. #FixCalifornia

“Parents in District 4 and across California have a fundamental right to feel safe. No family should live in fear that a serial child molester or violent predator could be released into their neighborhood..."

California's parole system is failing victims and putting public safety at risk. Some parole commissioners seem more focused on granting early releases than protecting our communities. Violent offenders should be held accountable, and victims deserve justice. Where’s the justice?
Governor Newsom appointed them. Senate Democrats just confirmed them.
Board of Parole Hearings Commissioners who released dangerous predators back into your neighborhoods and won’t even let you see how they voted.
Today, Sacramento chose predators over victims.
Happening now:
The California Senate is voting on the reappointment of five Board of Parole Hearings commissioners.
@CASenReps are opposing the confirmations and calling for new leadership after the Board approved parole for violent offenders, including serial child molesters and rapists.

Gavin Newsom Wants $20 Million to Honor Himself on His Way Out.
Gas is $6. California has a structural deficit. Newsom quietly tucked $20 million into his final budget to honor living former governors including himself once he leaves in January. His own Democrats called it absurd. He already has a bronze bust of himself in San Francisco City Hall. Apparently that is not enough. #FixCalifornia

Well, today, the California High-Speed Rail Authority Board of Directors is scheduled to vote on the 2026 business plan. We don’t need a vote. We need to pull the plug on this costly government project.
ICYMI: The Sacramento Bee published my Op-ed about the high-speed rail. Click on the link to read why the project needs to go.

I am pleased to announce that 9 bills from my 2026 legislative package have passed the State Senate & are now advancing to the Assembly.
Veteran benefits, wildfire recovery, consumer protection, property tax relief, small business regulations, education, & support for families
After reading the shocking report (https://t.co/as74ZGUNo7) about the lack of academic preparation of first year UC San Diego students, I introduced Senate Bill 1321 to examine the issue. Sadly, my legislation was met with defeat. #CaLeg 1/4
California had a $97 billion budget surplus and chose not to pay down $20B in COVID unemployment debt.
This week I brought an amendment to do it — party line vote, it failed.
Now small businesses face higher payroll taxes to cover it.
We’re already one of the most expensive states to run a business. Adding another $20 billion burden to businesses isn’t economic strategy — it’s another reason businesses leave.
I gave Senate Democrats an opportunity to lower gas prices by suspending CA's highest in the country gas tax.
Once again, they refused to discuss a commonsense idea and said "hell no."
The fight isn’t over. I’ll continue to advocate for families, students, and senior citizens who are crushed by the affordability crisis. Click on the link to listen to my floor remarks.
