Excluding people from mental health services for alcohol use! Alcohol use represents a complex form of safety behaviour – relieving distress temporarily but maintaining it in the long-term. Are safety behaviours grounds for exclusion from treatment now?! Read more .... @psychmag

It’s been a year since the release of #bbchooked most emotional episode. This meant the most and took the most out of us; it was worth it. The friends/families voices’ are often overlooked, #addiction has a ripple effect but so does #recovery. All eps still available (pls RT) ❤️

Huge loss for #Liverpool. The Brink provided a safe, accessible platform for so many people to access support, share ideas and connect. Also a great venue for music and community events. It’ll be missed.

Really sad to hear this

[Taking Action on Addiction @ActionAddiction]

Interesting blog by @ian_hamilton_ - sparks thoughts on how alcohol is a familiar & reliable 'exit' from stresses for many - in absence of access to other exits (including connectedness( during #lockdown, no surprise re potential tipping point into more problematic drinking

One of the under-reported findings from surveys of drinking during lockdown is in the detail of @AlcoholChangeUK survey.

While 22% drank on fewer days and 21% on more days, the figures on amount consumed per day were less balanced, 42% drunk less and only 13% drunk more.
