Trump sorprendió al país al invocar la Ley de Enemigos Extranjeros de 1798, una normativa de tiempos de guerra que le otorgaba poderes extraordinarios para detener y deportar a ciudadanos venezolanos presuntamente vinculados a la banda Tren de Aragua. Sin embargo, apenas unas horas después de su proclamación, un juez federal bloqueó por 14 días la medida, impidiendo su aplicación inmediata.
