@IgboHistoFacts The days of songs sung in Igbo - deeply meaningful and rich, with real life lessons. Such a simple video too, just holding a glass of wine together. No wonder attention spans are so short these days with all the transitions we see in today’s videos. 😅
@usopen@AlexZverev What a beautiful tribute to his mum. I loved that he recognised all she does behind the scenes and the part she’s played in helping him pursue his tennis career- something that can so easily go unnoticed.
@General_Oluchi Let’s start from home. Every Igbo business man in Nollywood has to onye Afia with poor English and say lubber instead of rubber. When you point these things out, our people won’t see any issue with it. But we’re endorsing the stereotype.
I know it sucks to lose, but being number one isn’t just about winning trophies. Many young girls (and boys) all over the world look up to players like you. Where is the growth when you smash rackets after losing, don’t look your opponent in the face, shout “F off” at the cameraman, storm off stage after the trophy presentation without even a hug for your opponent, and then make a joke (if that’s what it was) about seeing if Lena can hold the number one position longer than you? It’s the same (or worse) behaviour every year. Do better.
@HariomK61498 Looks like someone needs anger management classes. I get she’s frustrated but where is the growth if she is displaying the same attitude every year after a loss?
What a sore loser. I mean making three consecutive US open finals and winning two, but she couldn’t be happy for someone wining her first. Shouting F off to the camera, smashing her racket and rushing off stage after the trophy presentation with no hug for her opponent. Delighted for Rybakina!
@WTA@TaylorTownsend@K_Siniakova One of the best tennis partnerships; up there with the Williams sisters and the Bryan brothers. There’s just something special about these two - incredible chemistry, lovely personalities, and an absolute joy to watch.
I say this with the best intentions, but everything you write and every interview you conduct is in English, yet we wonder why younger generations are losing touch with Igbo. Where possible, interview children in Igbo if they speak the language. Using and promoting Igbo in business and professional spaces helps reinforce to younger people that our language is relevant, valuable and has a place in everyday life.
All these people who ride the coattails of being Igbo when it suits them, only to turn around and disparage Igbo people collectively the moment something doesn’t serve their interests. With your level of exposure, you really should have known better. You’ve shown your true colours.
There is a certain vulnerability that comes with the loss of a loved one. It changes one’s perspective on life and reminds us of what truly matters.
At such a time, I have been deeply grateful for the overwhelming love, encouragement, sympathy, and kindness shown to me and my family by relatives, friends, well-wishers, and members of my political family across various platforms.
I am particularly grateful to H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, H.E. Rotimi Amaechi, H.E. Peter Obi, and H.E. Kashim Imam for their support, empathy, and comforting presence during this difficult period.
My sincere appreciation also goes to H.E. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, H.E. Obafemi Hamzat, Ken Pela, Olumide Akpata, and Jandor for extending a hand of kindness and standing with my family in our time of grief.
To my political family across multiple platforms, thank you for the warmth, prayers, and unwavering support you have extended to me and my family over the past two weeks. Your compassion has been a source of strength.
My mother’s greatest testament was the love she gave and the lives she touched within our family, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, across ECOWAS, in her church, and among her friends and extended family. Her legacy reminds me that the true measure of a life is not in what we accumulate, but in the love we share and the positive impact we make.
In her honour, I encourage each of us to love more deeply, to stand for what is right, and to make a positive difference wherever we have the opportunity.
Thank you all, and may God bless you abundantly.
