It's been fun, Tweeps, but I'm done.

Unless something major changes, this is my last tweet.
I won't delete my Twitter account for the sake of preventing imposters. I may lock it later.
I'll still check DMs for a while, as that's how I communicate with a lot of people who are important to me.
So, yeah. Bye. 🥲👋❤
Social media exists due to all of us devoting our precious time & attention to it.
Years ago I quit FB because I believed it was doing more harm than good & its CEO was unlikely to change for the better. I didn't want to be a part of that.
I feel the same now about Twitter.
It's been fun, Tweeps, but I'm done.

Twitter has suspended the accounts of journalists who cover the company and owner Elon Musk, including reporters for The New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN. https://t.co/LqRYB4Nher
Twitter no longer allows you to post links to Mastodon profiles 🤨
And the link to my Mastodon profile that I already had in my Twitter bio now comes with a "this link may be unsafe" warning when youv click it. 😔
Journalists who cover Elon Musk have been suspended on Twitter tonight: @Donie O'Sullivan from CNN, Aaron Rupar and the Washington Post's @drewharwell.
Rupar tells me he has "no idea" why it happened.
Twitter has shut down the official Mastodon account, which had about 175,000 followers:

Its bio used to say: "At Mastodon, we present a vision of social media that cannot be bought and owned by any billionaire."
Re-upping this tool because I just used it again and found a bunch more Twitter friends who have recently joined Mastodon.
Also: Is anyone aware of a similar tool to quickly find Twitter friends on Post?
This is the best tool I've seen yet for finding your Twitter friends on Mastodon.
I just used it and it quickly found 160 accounts on Mastodon out of the 1,894 people I follow on Twitter.
With one click, I now follow all those folks on Mastodon too.

@cmcalgary I think it will.
I've spent way more time developing my Mastodon feed so far, though. (And it definitely has improved in the quality & quantity of info and interactions I'm getting.)
@KateatHome@CTV_CAMILLA@global_leslie I know "a faint positive is a positive" has been reported, but I'm not sure about a story specifically on how well people read tests. (I've also noticed faint positive lines visible to the naked eye aren't always visible when you take a photo of them, depending on the lighting.)
(Bloomberg) -- Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced co-founder and former head of digital-asset exchange FTX, was arrested in the Bahamas on Monday, the nation’s government said.
Alberta public health is now run by an interim official who still holds an unrelated AHS executive post, and two deputies who've already submitted papers to resign.
And premier who questions mainstream public health advice altogether.

Since Danielle Smith became Alberta's premier two months ago today, Albertans have not seen or heard once from a top public health doctor, Hinshaw or her interim successor Dr. Mark Joffe.
A Nov 16 news release aside, Alberta has had no public-facing public health function.
Wild.
In thick of a brutal virus season & pediatric health crisis, not only has Alberta's main public health Twitter been silent for 2months (since day before Danielle Smith won UCP leadership) -it still bears name of Dr Hinshaw, removed 4 weeks ago.
