@BrooksAustinBA My guess: with 3 time outs they feel like they can score in 1 minute. Run on 1st down leaves 1 minute on the clock. Take the shot second down, if you get a first down you go hurry up and drive. If you don't, you run again and burn their TO but now they've only got ~30s and 1 T0.

Seems now, the people setting the terms are the boosters and the players/their agents, all of whom are exclusively concerned with the next 3-4 years. There needs representation for the student athletes that extends beyond one player's tenure, and it doesn't seem we have that.
