🚨 WATCH P-3 Leads High-Speed Pursuit: Marijuana Seized, Ecuadorian Smugglers Arrested 🚨
A Jacksonville P-3, on routine patrol in the Caribbean Sea’s source and transit zone, detected a fast-moving vessel on June 11. The crew visually identified a 3-engine Ecuadorian-style go-fast boat loaded with fuel barrels and large packages. The position and details were quickly relayed to Joint Interagency Task Force South and the USCG.
USCG assets—including a helicopter and Over-the-Horizon vessels—responded rapidly. After an overflight, the suspect vessel stopped, allowing USCG teams to gain positive control.
Result: 3,960 pounds of marijuana seized and 2 Ecuadorian suspects detained.

Money, Drugs, and Cockfighting Rings!! 💵💊🐓
On May 9, #ElPasoAirBranch, #GTAC and NASOC-San Angelo teamed up with HSI, BORTAC, NMSP, and FBI to target an illegal cockfighting ring tied to narcotics trafficking and money laundering. Using advanced ISR tech and coordinated aerial maneuvers, the operation secured a 40-acre site and detained over 150 individuals.

BPA McDonough started his CBP career in 2007. He recently served at the Wellesley Island Border Patrol Station, Buffalo Sector in New York. He also served in Nogales Station and in Houlton Sector. BPA McDonough also served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and as a Military Police Officer.
He is a true hero who selflessly served to protect America.
As a CBP family, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of BPA McDonough.
Sanderson Border Patrol agents requested help tracking a group. NASOC San Angelo detected the individuals. The crew guided the responding agents. All 5 were apprehended: 2 unaccompanied male juveniles, 1 female juvenile & her father, and one adult male. All from Guerrero, Mexico.
1. NASOC-Corpus Cristi MEA detected a vessel in the source & transit zone before handing it off to NASOC San Angelo MQ9. The UAS worked with partner nation forces to effectuate a vessel stop resulting in the seizure of 4,143 pounds of marijuana & detention of 2 subjects. #CBPAMO
🚨Dramatic High Seas Interdiction - On April 22, a P-3 crew located and tracked a Mexican-style go-fast vessel in the Narcotic Source and Transit Zone. Individuals and packages were observed onboard via radar and visual surface contact. Soon after the detection, the vessel went dead in the water and began dumping packages. The aircrew coordinated with a foreign partner, which deployed two soldiers onto the vessel via helicopter. Six persons onboard were detained and approximately 1,000lbs of cocaine recovered. #Teamwork #BorderSecurity
On April 16, a MQ-9 operating in the narcotic source and transit zone detected a suspected target of interest during a radar patrol. The crew visually confirmed the target as a GO FAST vessel with packages onboard. The crew worked with international partners who responded with interceptor vessels resulting in the seizure of 3,765 lbs. of cocaine they attempted to jettison. We are deeply saddened to share the tragic loss of Air Interdiction Agent Robert (Bob) Cox, who passed away in an off-duty aircraft incident on April 9. Bob’s life was defined by service—from his early days in the U.S. Army, through his distinguished Marine Corps career as a Cobra pilot, to his dedicated work with Air and Marine Operations. He was a true professional, a devoted family man, and an avid outdoorsman.
Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues as we honor his memory and legacy. Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Feb 5, NASOC San Angelo MQ9 located 2 go-fast vessels w/a maritime radar, but the crew could only visually confirm one. The second vessel was held on radar until foreign partners could interdict. Results: 2 vessels seized, 647.36 kgs of cocaine, and 4 subjects arrested.
