@MeirnonArt@nexta_tv@ZelenskyyUa You spent 800, you still have 1 TV, same as before. Charity has +1 TV.
Result is you spent 800 on giving a TV to charity.
But you still benefit from the process. It isn't wasted money to you.
@bible1_pam@MeirnonArt@nexta_tv@ZelenskyyUa Made complete sense.
It's like having an old CRT TV (basically worthless) and giving it to the local charity shop/goodwill/thrift store.
But when it was new, it cost $800, so you say "I gave $800 to charity" and take that as your budget to go buy a new 50" 4K HDR TV.
@Joetastic_@danyyedits@rhythmfriend You can tell when a player is experienced. They look so relaxed when playing, whereas I look really jerky in recordings.
@SkullyBSides Spectacle is one thing. It giving people headaches is another.
If I can't keep to frame-rate, it sets off my chronic migraine.
Not fun.
And as noted, your example is a special case with higher performance, not equivalent to a typical busy instance with many different avatars.
@SkullyBSides@psicough FWIW, I took this video (60fps) and stepped through a section frame by frame, counting frame-skips.
Back of a napkin math puts your frame-rate at ~40fps
Thats about what I get normally in VRC and is enough to set off my migraines.
Seems there's a reason for "very poor"
@SkullyBSides@psicough You're all using the same / one of only a few avatars here?
Well, that means you only need one copy of it in cache...
One instance of each material etc.
When you have 50+ people with different avatars of the same level... it's going to hit significantly differently.
@astro_riot@UploadVR Maybe they would be better off showing off a non-gaming use-case then. Because this doesn't have the precision or speed of a controller.
@SkarredGhost I don't have the bare walls for this, and it's segregating the spaces. For games, what does this idea give over a shared virtual space via VR?
@NotSoGrand97 @Bushwacker0079 There were general issues with it back in the day. For example, Mirrors edge - unless you go in and remove the physx.dll, any physics going on slows the game down and crashes. They fixed it later, which is why deleting the .dll and letting it find the installed one works.
@MaluEntu88 @elliotreports @visegrad24 What treaties?
The one where Russia signed to say that it wouldn't invade if Ukraine got rid of the nukes the USSR left when it collapsed?
Because Ukraine held up their end on that.
@DarthPutinKGB To show the superiority of my SAM systems, I shot down one of the rarest and most expensive planes in the sky.
I remain a master strategist
@ObscureNerdVR@AntonHand It's a shame... MoH felt like a title that could have been great... but they were working to a checklist, and never polished anything.
Performance was terrible, it was buggy, and nothing worked as it really should.
But there was a competent game that could have come from it.
@IndieGameDAV@AntonHand VR is an experience you have never experienced before, the first time you play it.
It takes time to train yourself to be okay with it. Though a few find that they can't, they are the minority.
Diving in to the deep end, or trying to push past it can be terrible.
