Absolutely. As a former public school teacher who taught during the early 2000’s in a military town, we weren’t concerned with this stuff.
We were concerned with the mental well-being of our students and their parents being shipped off to war.
@Texas68Landon I have a hard time believing that because you would understand that a major foundation of our country is religious freedom. Freedom of religion and from religious tyranny. It’s a huge part of why we’re even here.
The purposeful obfuscation is beyond frustrating.
@Texas68Landon I fear you missed civics class. Separation of church and state is exactly what I quoted.. from the start of the FIRST amendment of our constitution. But again, you know that. And you’re probably AI.
@Texas68Landon Show me then.. I apologize if I’m skeptical after the same legislators banned a massive amount of literature (including Plato.. another leader in western literature) from our curriculum in public institutions and mandated the Ten Commandments be displayed.
If you’re a Christian genuinely wondering why it’s bad for the state of Texas to require Bible study in public schools, imagine how you’d feel if your family lived in New York City and Mamdani required Quran study in public schools.
@mehdirhasan “Icky” he said.. Give me a fucking break. They knew exactly what they were doing sending 2,000 masked (and many untrained) federal boots to one city almost overnight. The chaos was by design.
We need to bring back intellectual elitism. Sorry, but a virologist will always know more about vaccines than a yoga mommy blogger with a ChatGPT Plus subscription.
