@marvistavoice@CC4MoreHomes@protectculver@CulverCityGov I think they can't legally keep it under wraps in light of the California Public Records Act โ if they collect it they have to disclose it.
As long as they comply with that law and release the records, I'll be posting updates here: https://t.co/JxWBHWrmbR
Three years ago, the community called for greater transparency, demanding that Culver City require registration of rental units. This community process has now been disregarded because a few angry landlords with the ear of the city complained.
In response to noise from @protectculver, @CulverCityGov took down a page that let tenants see whether their landlord registered with the city.
The city council had just agendized a future discussion on this, but the city sidestepped that & took down the site anyway w/o notice.
This is how our local far-right group "Protect Culver City" is characterizing the attempt to give tenants access to the same rent price history that their landlords have.

So here's a thread showing the desire to bring this to other cities...
Culver City had an official site that let tenants search by address or landlord name, and they could see whether the landlord had registered with the city. But that page no longer exists on the city's portal: https://t.co/EIHQROl4IH
