Living in Dubai because I love the weather. I work for PwC on exciting projects with great people. Blessed with lovely friends and an amazing family. VMO.
@SultanAlQassemi@SultanAlQassemi if you are looking for interesting people from that period I know the political agent in RAK from 1966. Here a picture of him with Sheikh Saqr and his Mercedes. He taught Sheikh Saud to shoot as a little boy and came over 10 years ago.
@Bills_gallery@IsabelOakeshott@Bills_gallery We have some pretty sophisticated vertical farming for all salads, lots of fruit, animal fodder all using way less water than Europe greenhouses. We also have massive fish farms and surrounded by sea. Supermarkets better stocked than UK.
@typesfast@grok Worked for a football (soccer) software company in the 1st .com boom and had some software to do something similar. Was generally ok but basically failed as some of the key words and phrases literally got lost in translation "I'm interested in a striker" became "I want to fight"
@SimonCalder The only people who are leaving are those who are stuck in transit or were here on holiday. Not a single one of my friends or work people remotely considering “evacuating”.
@SAlwashahi To me it’s pride in Nation that we can all get behind and be part of and something generally not felt in Western Europe at the moment. Generally everything here is good and positive news, a new road, more schools, another restaurant, more parks, a better beach etc. Not like home
@omaralbusaidy One of the other posts they said something about the “huge demand for paid parking”. I don’t think anyone ever “demanded” paid parking it has been forced upon us and, with those camera cars driving up and down kite beach every 30 seconds it’s beginning to feel a bit like London!
@taufique_13@thatdayin1992 Like what? Oil and Dubai chocolate. Can you give me a list of Dubai made products. It’s a service industry country so maybe you’ve been buying holidays here.
