How do children’s brains develop to control speech? @Macquarie_Uni Cognitive Science PhD student, Ioanna, is currently recruiting 8-12-year-old children who want to help her answer this question in a brain imaging study. @CCD_Outreach
These projects and workshops clearly demonstrate the vibrant cross disciplinary research that is being undertaken within the Faculty and will ensure very positive legacy for the CCD.
Pleased to announce CCD Legacy funding of 10 seeding projects & 2 workshops involving 47 different members of staff from across the 4 Faculty of Human Sciences Departments @Macquarie_Uni! inc 20 from Cog Sci, 11 from @PsyMQ , 8 from Educational Studies & 8 from Linguistics. 1/3
The two workshops focus on (i) clinical applications of brain imaging research using MEG and (ii) how to adapt lab-based technologies (eye-tracking, EEG) to objectively measure the effectiveness of instructional protocols in very young children in natural settings. 3/3

My very first 1st-author paper was published in @JoVEJournal today! It outlines a protocol for conducting child MEG studies and is accompanied by a cool video. Check it out https://t.co/3yFRK9paAV
Special thanks to my terrific supervisors Dr Wei He & Dr Paul Sowman @Macquarie_Uni
I'm very pleased to announce the opening of our new Macquarie University Centre for Reading (follow us at @MQCReading). Bringing together multiple @Macquarie_Uni researchers, and incorporating our clinic and MOTIf test site, this is your one stop shop! https://t.co/A21PHDauJI
Doing cognitive research outside the lab?
Check out the new free "Mental Experiments" App on iOS for creating your own experiments including consent forms, questionnaires, active tasks and data encryption https://t.co/mqpI1DgtVe #openaccess#research
Our final #CelebratingCCD goes out to EVERYONE who has been involved with the Centre and the many successes its achieved over the past 7 years.
Be sure to follow our CCD Members to keep up to date on future research: https://t.co/eCZkEvLKge
